It’s that time of year again when you have to enroll in the Philadelphia health insurance plan that’s right for you. Open Enrollment for 2018 began running on November 1 and will continue until December 15, 2017.
Are you eligible to enroll in health coverage through the marketplace? Some of the requirements include:
- Must live in the United States
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national
- Cannot be incarcerated
- Cannot be covered under Medicare
After this enrollment period, you can generally only enroll in a health insurance plan if you qualify for what’s called a “Special Enrollment Period.” What makes you eligible for a Special Enrollment Period? Certain life events, such as:
- Getting married
- Having a baby
- Loss of other health coverage
